Katherine Hauser
4-H Program Representative—Baker County
Katie Hauser is the 4-H coordinator in Baker County in Eastern Oregon. Previously she taught 6th ,7th and 8th grade middle school social studies and career connections in Macon Georgia and Columbia South Carolina for roughly 8 years prior to joining 4-H. Although Katie was not raised in 4-H since her family was a military one growing up, so outside of Girl Scouts she often did not join in programing that spanned several years as you never knew where you were going to be stationed next. Katie came to know about 4-H and it's mission through a distant relative who had worked for the program for 30 years. It became clear that the opportunities provided for youth and the long-term impact of the organization on positive youth development through creative and innovative programing was something that was hard not to want to be a part of.
