  • Oregon State University and OSU Foundation employees can provide a steady stream of support to the funds of their choice through payroll deduction. It's an easy way to make gifts over time without any need for reminders.

  • Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees and retirees. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies also match gifts made by spouses. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please visit the OSU Foundation Matching Gift webpage.

If your company offers matching gifts, request a matching gift form from your employer, fill it out and sign it, and then send it to the Oregon 4-H Foundation with your gift. We will do the rest! Just remember, note what 4-H program area you wish to support. Your employer’s matching gift will go to the same fund.

Many matching gift companies require that participants provide the Federal Tax ID number of the recipient organization when applying for a match.

The Tax ID for the Oregon 4-H Foundation is 93-0711337.

  • Donate appreciated stock as a generous gift, to avoid long-term capital gains tax and deduct the full market value on your tax return.

To transfer securities, please provide the following details to your brokerage firm.

The Foundation also offers an online stock transfer form for your convenience.

To specify that your gift goes to Oregon 4-H and which area you would like the proceeds to go to, please reach out to Kristi Tracy at the OSU Foundation, 541-737-9583.

    Real Estate Gifts:

Donating a home, farm, or forested property can provide you with many financial benefits while supporting Oregon 4-H programs throughout the state. Benefits may include:

    • Income tax deduction based on the appraised value of the property

    • Avoidance of capital gains taxes

    • Relief from maintenance and other ownership responsibilities

    • Assistance with property sale

    • Immediate or future support for 4-H

These gifts of property may be made outright, as life-income gifts with tax benefits, or with an arrangement where you reserve the right to continue living on the property for your lifetime. Our experts can help you explore the options and create a plan that fits your needs.

  • Gifts-in-kind – contributions of tangible property – may include items such as rare books for the library or specialized equipment for scientific research. OSU has a review process for evaluating the suitability of these gifts.

If the items meet the needs of an OSU program, donors can realize many rewards including:

    • Tax deduction based on the fair-market value of the item

    • Avoidance of capital gains taxes

    • Seeing a treasured possession advance research and education

Use the Gifts-in-Kind Form to submit the gift. You can specify that the gift is for 4-H under the “Department” section.
